Selwyn Beats Wallabies With one round still to be played in the Canterbury Table Tennis Associations A firxde competition. Selwyn snd Wallabies Red jointly lead the competition. They are well ahead of the third team. Selwyn, which lost to Wallabies Red In the first round, drew level by beating Wallabies Red last evening. At 11.30 pm. the score was 7-2 in favour of Selwyn. the only two matches lost being ?‘ n «J*s„b.V R- B. McCallum, to Mi A. Cox and K. F. Stevenson. T. R D. Flint and V. N. Brightwell showed a return to good form to come through their singles snd doubles without a loss to that stage, even though some had been close. McCallum did better in doubles play. University caused s surprise by „ beating the third-placed Wallabies Green by 7 matches to 5. This was a solid team effort by University, which led 6-2 at one stage. Points are: Selwyn 24.
