Aug 1 A hunger-free world would be more readily obtained in a liquor free world, and a liquor-free New Zealand could make a great contrioution to bringing m an era of a hunger-free people ’hroughout the earth, said the annual ■ report of the New Zealand Alliance presented today The report said that in the oroduction of New Zealand’s beer- for 1961. 1.375.331 bushels of barlev had been destroyed and 124829 cwt of sugat (equal to 5 per cent of the country's sugar requirements' used “In the midst of a world where two-thirds of the people are ill fed. ill clad and ill sheltered and lacking 'he ordinary means of life how can we justifiably pride ourselves on the destruction of such valuably needed food?” the report asked
