BURNSIDE DISPUTE

Settlement Reached

DUNEDIN, July 10.

Full settlement has now been reached over the dismissal of men from the Burnside Freezing Works in M»y, 1960.

Submissions concerning the dismissals were heard in Dunedin today by the South Island Conciliation Commissioner, Mr S. W. Armstrong. Both the Burnside branch of the Freezing Workers' Union and the New Zealand Refrigerating Company made submissions to Mr Armstrong, who is acting as an independent tribunal.

The union and the company have agreed to accept Mr Armstrong's decision.

Petty Cash Stolen.—Petty cash was stolen when the premises of D A. Lewis and Company, Ltd., furniture manufacturer, 336 A Manchester street, were entered on Tuesday night. Nothing was stolen when the premises of H. M. Sarchett, Ltd., 428 St. Asaph street, were entered.
