‘•Hard Work” For Bovs

"Lydiard-type" training methods would be used with boys attending the Cobham Cut ward Bound School at Anaktwi. the physical training instructor at the school iMr E. T. Jones) said in Auckland today. "I'll expect the boys to work really hard. They won't be there for a holiday,' 1 Mr Jones said.
Mr Jones was previously physical educaicn teacher at Sedd-on Memorial Technical College. Mr Jones said that each boy would have to work to his own capacity. “There will be overland marathons. all types of gymnastic exetxrises, and swimming all tihe year round.” Mr Jones will leave for Anakiwi on August 10. The school at Anakiwa codJd develop into the finest Outward Bound school in the world, the chairman of Che organisation in England • Sir Spencer Summers) and the executive director (Mr E. W. Dawson) both believed. said the chairman of the Outward Bound Trust in New Zealand (Mr W. Fisheri today. The Anakiwa school would begin operating about midOctober, he announced. All courses would last 23 days.
Mr Fisher caid it was the aim of the movement in New Zealand to build as large a capital fund as possible so that fees could be kept to a minimum. The all-in charge of £4O a boy included ail transport charges regardless of what part of New Zealand the entrant came from, he said. The trust had now raised £37,039 3s 6d in its appeal for £lOO,OOO.
