CAMPAIGN ON FORMS
Better Response Sought (N Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, July 11. Although a number of suggestions for alterations to Government forms have been received by the Public Service Commission during the first week of its public campaign, the response has not been as good as the commission hoped. The chairman of the commission (Mr L. A. Aitkinson) said today that he hoped many more persons would take advantage of the opportunity during the remaining two weeks of the campaign. Mr Atkinson said some of the suggestions received appeared to have merit. The suggestions received so far were being considered by the departments concerned. Some national organisations had expressed particular interest, and it was expected they would be forwarding suggestions. “We are still looking for many more suggestions from the man in the street,” he said. “If he believes that particular forms are unnecessary, or should be changed, this is his chance to tell us. We received more than 1600 suggestions from public servants in only two weeks. We hope the public will express equal interest. If they let us down, however, the campaign cannot succeed.”
