Archbishop P. T. B. McKeefry is on his way back to New Zealand after attending a meeting of the preparatory committee to the Ecumenical council in Rome. He left America on Sunday and is due at Auckland at the end of this week.— (PA.) Air Chief-Marshal Sir Edmund Hudleston. commander Transport Command, with Lady Hudleston, will arrive at Wellington today for a two-day visit. He will meet the Minister of Defence (Mr Eyre) and then the Chief of Air Staff (Air Vice-Marshal I. G. Morrison) on Thursday morning —(P.A.)
The Rev. E C. Leadley, president of the Methodist Church in New* Zealand, will visit Christchurch from July 16 to July 18 He will attend the monthly meeting of the standing committee of synod and the silver jubilee celebrations of the North Canterbury Women’s Guild Fellowship.
The Rev D. S. Knight who has been Presbyterian minister of the Lincoln parish for the last five years and a half had his call to St. James Church. Spreydon. sustained by the Christchurch Presbv. tery last evening. The charge has been vacant since February.
