Buller By-Election
Sir.—So “Disillusioned Nationalist’s” armour has been pierced, and the National Party, through the Buller eleotorate. cries. “Touche.”—Yours, etc., C.F. July 10, 1962.
Sir, —The National Party has, after 18 months of inertia. made many promises to the people of the West Coast. Let us hope that the West Coasters have more luck with National Party hronises than the Nelson people have bsd. In December. 1960, the Prime Minister said that the cotton mill project was welcomed and supported by the National Government. Now, 18 months later, the empty building s'a nds as a monument to what pressure groups can do.—Yours, etc., PROGRESS. July 9. 1962. Sir,—l cannot see where the results of the Buller election prove anything except that P’rhaps the large percentage of people who refrained from voting did so because the Labour Party’s policy of looking backward and the National Party's policy of “wait and see” are hardly worth the trip to the polling booth.—Yours, etc., SONIA YETSOFAR. July 9, 1962.
