CARVED REREDOS FOR CHURCH
Gift Presented To St. Luke’s
A carved oak rcredos has been given to St. Luke's Church in Manchester street in memory of Mr and Mrs A. A. M. Campbell by their family. It is also a thanks offering from Mrs C. E. Os-mond-Smiitih. the youngest daughter of Archdeacon E. A. Lingard, who was the first vicar of the parish from 1868 to 1903
Mrs Campbell was a member of St. Luke’s Church from 1874 until she died in 1957. She was a member of the Mothers’ Union for 50 years. Mr Campbell was a member of the church from 1888 until he died in 1956 The reredos. which covers the east wall of the chapel, was designed by Mr J. Hendry and carved by Mr J. McCracken.
The Bishop of Christchurch (the Rt. Rev. A. K. Warren) will dedicate the reredos on Sunday afternoon.
