MINOR FIRES
Four minor fires occurred yesterday. At 12.30 am., a mattress fire at 33 Disraeli street, a house occupied by Guy Arthur, was attended by engines from the Central and Sydenham stations. A fire in the boiler-room of the Spreydon School. in Halswell road, at 10 30 am, was attended by engines from Sumner and the Central station. At 11.15 am. an engine from Sydenham attended a chimney fire at a house occupied by Michael Moran, at 136 Byron road. An oil-burner fire in the Public Service Investment Building. 11l Worcester street, was attended at 3 pm. by an engine from the Central station.
