ST. HELENS HOSPITAL

New Nurses’ Home The Ministry of Works is preparing drawings and estimates for a new five-storey nurses’ home at St. Helens hosoital. The district architect of the Ministry of Works (Mr C. P. Cornish) said yesterday that the department hoped to call tenders towards the end of the year. The new home will have accommodation for 84 nurses and eight domestic staff. Included in the building will be a cafeteria, tutorial unit, library, lounges, sisters’ offices and small laundry.
