Woolston Library Officers
Membership had increased by 26 to 308 over the last year, said the chairman of the Woolston public library (Mr J. E. Hopkins) in his report to the annual meeting Although «fewer books had been bough, than last year they had cost £29 more, he said ‘The increased price of books is making it difficult to keep the shelves really full" After 12 years of service to the library, Mr T. B. Otten was elected a life member. Officers elected were: patron. Mr W Ollivier; presi-, dent, the Mayor, Mr G Manning; chairman, Mr J, Hopkins; honorary secretary, Mrs I I Voice: book buyer, Mr T B. Otten; vice-presi-dents, six were elected, and all city councillors; committee Mesdames E W Hopkins. K D Boyer. M. Elliot. E Hughes. M Hurd. F Clark. P Leversedge. M F Piner. L I. Skirving. I I Voice, Messrs T B Otten. J Mayer, J E Hopkins, and H Phillips; trustees. Mrs I. I Voice and A. A Glendinning; honorary auditor, Mr R. L. Jarman.
