Both Singles To Australia (N.Z.P. A.-Reuter—Copyright) BRISTOL, June 17. 5 Miss M. Smith, of Australia, defeated Miss M. i Bueno, of Brazil, in the final I of the women's singles in the i West of England lawn tennis , championships at Bristol 'today. Miss Smith won, 6-1, 13-6. 6-2. I In the men's singles final, F. Stolle, of Australia, beat lA. Palafox, of Mexico, 6-3, 6-4. Oil Friday. R. Laver, of Australia, who sometimes fails in small tournaments but triumphs in major events, was beaten by Palafox in a semi-final, 7-9, 5-7. C. McKinley, of the United States, who was, beaten by Laver in the Wimbledon final last year, lost to Stolle, 6-8, 4-6, in the other semifinal. In the women’s singles semi-finals Miss Smith was given a tremendous battle by the South African, Miss Sandra Reynolds - Price, before winning 9-7, 3-6, 7-5. Miss Bueno beat Miss E. Buding (Germany), 3-6, 6-3, 6-3.
