IN THE MATTER OF "The Municipal Corporations Act, 1954,” "The Local Authorities Loans Act, 1956," "The Rating Act, 1925,” "The Soil Conservation and Rivers Control Act. 1941.” IT IS HEREBY PUBLICLY NOTIFIED that it is the intention of the Rangiora Borough Council at a Special Meeting of the Council to be held at 5.15 p.m. on Wednesday, July 4. 1962, in the Borough Council Chambers, Percival street, Rangiora. to MAKE and LEVY the undermentioned RATES upon the Rateable Value (on the basis of unimproved value) of all Rateable Properties appearing in the Valuation Roll now in force in the Borough of Rangiora for the period commencing on the Ist day of April. 1962, and ending on the 31st day of March. 1963. (1) As to the whole of the Borough of Rangiora, a consolidated rate of eightpence halfpenny (Bjd) in the £ on the Unimproved value comprising: (a) A General Rate of seven decimal nine pence (7.9 d in the £ under section 90 of the Municipal Corporations Act. 1954. (b) A Special Rate of decimal six pence t.6d) in the £ for loan charges as follows under section 47 of the Local Authorities Loans Act. 1956. Street Works Loan, 1958 .. .. .2710 Gasworks Loan, 1949 .1742 Pensioners’ Flats Loan, 1960 .. .0774 Workers’ Dwelling Loan, 1955 .. .0774 (2) WATER RATES (ordinary supply) under section 95 of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1954, in respect of all property in the Borough of Rangiora as follows: (a) Upon all land and dwelling houses to which water is supplied, a Water Rate of three pence farthing (3Jd) in the £ on unimproved value, provided that if such rate would produce Jess than one pound (£1) In respect of any such land or dwellinghouse a charge of one pound (£1) will be made and levied, (b> Upon all lands and dwelling-houses in the Borough of Rangiora to which water can be, but is not supplied, situated within one hundred yards from any part of the waterworks, a rate of ONE HALF OF THE WATER RATES above mentioned. (c) Upon al! buildings other than dwelling-houses within the Borough of Rangiora. a rate of ONE HALF OF THE WATER RATES above-mentioned. The above Water Rates being for the purpose of the supply of Water and Maintenance of Waterworks, and payment of loan charges in respect of loans raised for waterworks purposes. 3. UNIFORM ANNUAL FEES: (1) Sanitation fees Drainage. In accordance with the provisions of section 103 (1A) of the Municipal Corporations Act 1954 (as amended), a uniform annual fee for the period commencing April 1. 1962. and ending March 31, 1963. as follows for the cost of maintaining and extending the Council’s sewer drainage system and to meet loan charges in respect of loans raised in connexion with such system.
