GUEST WITH BALLET
Bjornsson Arrives
(N.Z. Press Association)
WELLINGTON, June 17.
The international Danish ballet dancer. Fredbjorn Bjornsson, principal dancer of the Royal Danish Ballet, arrived in Wellington yesterday to appear as a guest star with the New Zealand Ballet Company. Bjornsson will appear with the New Zealand company with his wife, Kirsten Ralov, who preceded him to New Zealand. At a rehearsal in Wellington today the dark-haired, dark-eyed dancer in blue drill jeans looked very much the part he was rehearsing that of a handsome Neapolitan fisherman in a romantic full-length ballet set in Naples and Capri which the company will present for the first time in New Zealand.
Bjornsson and his wife have been part of the Royal Danish Ballet since they were seven. They have two sons, aged 15 and six, who will not follow the family profession.
