(From Our Own Reporter) WAIMATE, June 17.

A Christchurch motorist suffered serious injuries and burns when his light car overturned, crashed into a fence and caught fire at Lower Hook some eight miles north of Waimate about 7.30 p.m. today The driver, the only occupant of the vehicle, was Kenneth Graham Hall, of 32 Bellbrook crescent. Shirley. Christchurch Mr Hall was extricated from the car by passing motorists who had to tip the car back on to its wheels to do so.

The injured man was attended to by Dr. A St John and removed to the Waimate Hospital by ambulance, where it was found he might also be suffering from acid burns from the car's battery Both the car. which had to be removed by breakdown service and a fence of almost new mesh and concrete posts, were extensively damaged.
