Missile Launcher For Frigate

(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, June 15. During her current refit, the frigate HJM.N.Z.S. Otago will be fitted with the launcher for the Seacat antiaircraft missiles, but the missiles themselves will not be available till the end of the year. The Minister of Defence (Mr Eyre) said that orders had been placed in the United Kingdom and the Navy expected to receive within the next few months the launcher, control equipment test gear and “an ingenious training device which allows an operator to simulate the firing and control of a guided missile in a shore training school.”
