A deep depression lies east of the North Island. • Forecast:— Canterbury.—Moderate variable winds tending to moderate south-westerlies: partly Cloudy; moderate temperatures. Outlook: fine or partly cloudy. West Coast.—Moderate westerlies; cloudy, showery weather, with some isolated thunderstorms moderate temperatures. Outlook: showery. Nelson and Marlborough.—North-westerlies predominating. fresh in exposed positions; partly cloudy; some scattered showers developing this afternoon, chiefly in the west; temperatures rather mild.
