The Canterbury Rugby team had been opposed by a much lighter and smaller side in the match against Buller last Saturday, the team’s manager (Mr S. R. Southall) reported to the management committee of the Canterbury Rtfgby Union last evening. • “The Buller players looked like juniors when they came on the field, but they did not play like them.” Mr Southall said "It seemed the only way to penetrate, which we did in the se ond half, was to bring in the full-back. The team ended by scoring five tries to none." -
Both teams had played excellently in the West Coast game at Greymouth on the Monday, Mr Southall said Every attempt was made to keep the ball moving, and a first-class game resulted. The ground was in shocking order —it was almost a bog—and in the conditions a draw was a fair indication, he said
