Registration Under Way (N.Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright) HONG KONG. June 5. Government sources said last night that the Hong Kong authorities had virtually stopped searching for illegal immigrants in the hills and villages of the New Territories. In Hong Kong and Kowloon, refugees from China are being quietly registered and given identity cards before being absorbed into the papulation. The Registration of Persons Office in Hong Kong will handle only 600 adult new arrival daily from tomorrow. The Government explained last night that the numbers had to be limited because of the re-registration work which the office had to do for old Hong Kong residents The Commissioner for Registration (Mr J. V. G. Mitchell) assured new arrivals that they would all be registered “in due course." '
