Rugby RULING ON SPRIGS
N.Z.R.U. Action Expected (NZ. Press’ Association) PALM. NORTH. June 5. A ruling on sprigs for Rugby boots will be issued by the New Zealand Rugby Union, the chairman of the Manawatu Rugby Union (Mr J. Payne) told the union tonight. Last week the union discussed the type of sprig permitted and the type being sold on some boots at present. They were told bv the referees' delegate. Mr L. Puklowski. that the small sprigs were banned.
Referees in the Manawatu are prohibiting the small sprigs, but it is understood that they have been allowed in other parts of the country.
