DEATH OF DOG
Owner Claims Damages INZ Press Association. AUCKLAND, June 5. An action arising out of the alleged conversion and detention of a dog in which the plaintiff sought £550 damages from three persons began in the Magistrate's Court at Auckland today before Mr M. C. Astley. S.M The, plaintiff is Evelyn Alice Margot Lucas, married, who owned a pedigree cocker spaniel dog allegedly destroyed accidentally by the S.P.C.A. in 1930. She is seeking damages of £350 from Rex Booker, animal stanctuary keeper and stock inspector, and a total of £2OO from Norman Nelson Giles, a poultry farmer, and his wife. Frieda Giles. Mr R. P. Smellie appeared for Lucas, Mr P. B. Temin for Booker and Hr R. K. Davidson for the Giles. A case of non-suit against Mrs Giles was conceded by Mr Smellie today at the conclusion of the plaintiff's case. The hearing will continue tomorrow.
