N.Z. Diplomat Rejects Idea (N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) BRISBANE, May 22. New Zealanders would not entertain amalgamation with Australia as a seventh State “or any other political way," the New Zealand High Commissioner in Australia. Mr S C. Johnston, said yesterday. However, Mr Johnston said he could foresee a day when New Zealand and Australia would be economically linked if Britain entered the European Common Market. Mr Johnston said that New Zealand had grown up individually as a nation and his countrymen would b“ most unwilling to sacrifice their nationality to link with Australia.
