HELD MAN’S HEAD UP
Nurse’s Effort Commended (N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, May 22. An Auckland nurse was commended by the Auckland Coroner (Mr K. A. Snedden) today for her efforts to save a man trapped in a car in shallow water at a St Heliers beach on April 3 At an inquest into the man’s death. Mr Snedden said he commended the woman. Mrs M. Smith, of Cliff road. St Heliers. for her act of holding the head of the man above water at risk to herself He found that Ralph Alexander Parker, aged about 42, a shopkeeper, of 118 Jervois road. Ponsonby, died on April 3 on a beach at St. Heliers Bay from a fracture of the neck and other injuries suffered when his car ran over a cliff from Cliff avenue.
