Rider Fined At Amberley
M. J. Skelton, the rider of Flaxman in the Amberley Cup on Saturday, was fined £5 at an inquiry after the race on a charge of causing interference to Safe Harbour two furlongs after the start.
Evidence was heard from Skelton, D. N. Hadfield, the rider of Safe Harbour, M. J. Wildermoth, the rider of Korallion, and the stipendiary steward, Mr H. B. Lorigan. It was found that careless riding by Skelton, in that he. failed to control his horse, contributed to the interference.
Flying Blue lost his driver. W. D. Robinson, Just after the start of the Teviotdale Trot Handicap. It was found at an inquiry that Two Moons, driven by J. G. McDonald, moved out slightly, checking Kilkivan (H. Kerr).
Kilkivan in turn checked and locked sulky wheels with Flying Blue, causing Robinson to be dislodged. The Incident was found to be accidental.
