Tributes To Cr. W. S. MacGibbon
“Christchurch has lost one of its most public-spirited citizens, as he served on almost all the major local bodies in the community.” said the Mayor (Mr G Manning) last evening, when the City Council recorded its appreciation of the services of Cr. W. S Mac Gibbon, who died last Friday. “As a colleague and a member of this council, he will be sadly missed by us all," the Mayor said. “Cr. Mac Gibbon never spared himself." said Cr. W P Glue. “Few of us know all the good he did,” said Cr. M. R Carter. “He will probably go down as one of the great men of Christchurch”
