Brisk Bidding At Fire Sale
(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON. May 16. In just 16 minutes today nearly £36,000 in bids won the entire stock of hosiery and underwear salvaged from the recent Gisborne hosiery mill fire.
Buyers operating on behalf of commercial interests in Wellington, Auckland, Christchurch, and Dunedin dominated the market and offered almost cost price for the goods.
