“Painted Ocean”

Sir,—The last part of my review of Mr Arrow's book read: "It may be added that the print and binding of the book show the high standard of craftsmanship achieved by the Caxton Press. The proofreader, however, was not on the alert at page 137.” As I seem to have mislaid my shillelagh. I hasten. in the interest of public peace, to rewrite the final sentence: "If you notice that the proofreader was not on the alert at page 137. you had better keep this knowledge to yourself. D. L. Donovan, director, the Caxton Press, while delighting in praise, is not able to stand up to even the smallest, most mildly expressed criticism."—Yours, etc.. YOUR REVIEWER April 19. 1962
