MR CARR TO RETIRE

(N.Z. Press Association) TIMARU. April 20. Mr C. L. Carr, M.P. for Timaru since November. 1928, has announced his intention to retire Speaking . from Christchurch. Mr Carr said in a ■elephone conversation on Thursday afternoon: “I have no intention of going on after the next election. “I will be making a public announcement in the near future regarding my future intentions." said Mr Carr. Mr Carr’s service in Parliament has been exceeded only by that of Mr H. G. R Mason, who was elected in 1926 The Leader of the Opposition (Mr Nash) entered the House in 1929
