Fire Protection At Airport

Sir.—lt is indeed fortunate that the Fire Service Council has seen fit to give an overriding decision in favour of a site more closely situated to and in the best interests of Christchurch Airport. This ultihaate decision would probably have been anticipated by persons interested in the controversy and, in particular, by the chief Are officer. However, some advantage may conceivably be derived in future, the Fire Board can be expected to accept the professional guidance of the chief fire officer upon deliberations of a technical nature.—Yours, etc., ANALYSIS.
