Rugby League MARIST CLUBS’ TOURNEY
Feature Match On Sunday The Marist Club’s annual Rugby League tournament between teams from the Wert Coast, Wellington, and Canterbury will be held this weekend at Sylvan street. A feature of toe tournament will be a match between a selected Marist team and N. K. Robert’s thirteen, which will be played, on Sunday. Besides Roberts, two other Kiwis, J. Aj Bond and A. N. Amer, have been included in Roberts's thirteen, as well as several Canterbury players. The team will be chosen from the following sixteen: Amer, Bond, R. N. Meaelem, J. L. White, R. H. Turton, R. T. Bray, J. Bray, K. Harding. J. Hastlck, Roberts, J. Fisher, T. Bisman, E. Tavendale, G. Copper, G. H. Turner, and G. Bladder.
On Saturday. Wert Coast plays Canterbury B, and Wellington meets Canterbury A The winners play off on Monday to decide the President’s trophy. If Canterbury A meet Wert Coast—a side that includes toe 1959-61 Kiwi. G. M. Kennedy—in the final, the Bert Kennedy Cup will also be at stake.
