N.Z. Horses Win In Sydney
Three New Zealand-bred horses were successful at last week’s meeting at Harold Park. Tarcoola (Light Bri-gade-Melody Maid), a 33 to 1 chance, caused a major upset when she won the April Handicap from two other outsiders, Gay Ribands and Bon Avon. Le George (Stormyway— Mareta Hall) beat Byebye Bill (Captain Adio—Forever) by half a length in the Three-year-old Stakes. Le George started at 3 to 1 and Byebye Bill at 9 to 2. Chief Vitesse (Meadow Chief—Vitesse', a hot favourite at 5 to 4 on, gained a decisive win in the Open Claes Handicap, in which Waitalri Hanover tired to fifth after making the
