RAFT IN FORM

Waikouaiti Cup

Raft will be solidly supported to gain his third successive win when he contests the Waikouaiti Cup, the first leg of the double at the Waikouaiti Trotting Club’s annual meeting on Saturday. He is a fine stayer and should run out the two miles too solidly for his rivals. Cairnbrae, which impressed at the Methven trials on Tuesday, Bonnieburn and Runfreo, should do best of the other Canterbury horses in the race, while Rlch•na and Stormwater are Southland pacers expected to race prominently. Halyard could win the second leg, the President's Handicap, whieh has drawn an unwieldy field. Anama. Moneymusk, Hal Star and Meadow Haze are others expected to race well. Selections:—
