NEW STAND AT PARK
Council And Board In Dispute The Victory Park Board has submitted plans of its new stand at Lancaster Park to the City Council, "as a courtesy.” but at the same time says no building permit is required. The city engineer (Mr E. Somers) told toe council last evening that if the board was not required to take out a permit and did not do so, he did not think engineer* should go to the trouble of checking plans, either structurally or for egress. The status of toe park and the council’s jurisdiction over it had been discussed over the last seven or eight year*. The council's solicitors had held that toe board was subject to council jurisdiction; but the board'* solicitors held otherwise.
The council agreed that Its representative* should meet the bioard's representatives and report back to the council.
