Mr S T Liu, marketing officer in the New Zealand Trade Commissioner's Office in Singapore, will arrive in Christchurch today in the course of a business tour of the Dominion He will meet members, of the council of the Canterbury Manufacturers’ Association to discuss exports to Singapore Mr K W Davies, the New Zealand Trade Commissioner for the Pacific, will leave Auckland to undertake further trade surveys in New Caledonia and the ,New Hebrides, according to advice received by the Canterbury Manufacturers’ Association Mr G A Shouksmith was elected chairman and Mr L C Fulford deputy-eh airman at the Aranui High School board meeting last evening Tributes were paid to the work of the retiring chairman (Mr D H. Hemsley). who has held the office since the board was established 18 months ago Mr M McCurdy, head of the science department at the Aranui High School has resigned to become a senior lecturer at the Christchurch Teachers’ College The board of governors last evening praised his work in manyactivities of the school since its establishment
Professor G Jobberns has been elected chairman and Mrs E B Dalmer deputychairman of the Avonside Girls’ High School board.
