METHVEN A. AND P. COMPETITIONS
High Standard Of Flocks Entries in the Methven Agricultural and Pastoral Association’s annual flock ewe competition were of a high standard, in spite of the dry conditions experienced earlier in the season. The competition was judged byMr P. Cameron, of Herbert, North Otago. R. F. Fryer won outright the R. C. Smith rosebowl tor the best hogget flock, and the R. F, Fryer rosebowl for the most Improved flock was awarded to R. Hill.
Results were:—Romney twotooth ewes: R. Hill, 83 points. 1: P. G. Holmes, 82. 2: V. Dobson, 80. 3. Romney ewe hoggets: R. F. Frver. S 3. 1; T. Lucas, 81. 2; M. Bell. 78, 3. Shorn Romney ewe hoggets: B. H. Pridie. 73. 1; C. McLaughlin, 67. 2.
Lamb Competition In the association’s fat lamb competition, which was judged on the hooks at the Kalapoi freezing works of the North Canterbury Sheepfarmers’ Freezing Company, Ltd., the
class for export lambs 381 b and under was wdh by R. G. Holmes, and the award for the export class under 421 b was made to Clarkson Bros.
