How To Use Coke
Sir,—As a West Coaoter. born in Greymouth in 1872. I feel thankful for any ausgeotion that may benefit the coal industry. I fee} sure if instructions on how to burn coke were given with the free packages ot coke it would be helpful. Coke needs draught from, under the grate. Keep the bottom of the grate free from aahes. and with a slab of wood on top, and you will have to sit back. Don’t expect to start a fire with coke. Two inches of coke about walnut size in the grate first, then build a wood fire on top of the eoke. It will soon glow. Add more coke, not too much at a time, and a thick slab of wood on top. and you will have a real heat for hours, at a very low cost—Yours, etc, FOR THE CAUSE THAT LACKS ASSISTANCE April 17, 1962. Pen-Friends Wanted Miss Ann Redman, c/o the "Evening Argus." North street, Brighton 1. Englat d. asks for the name* aid addresses of boys and girls, aged 10 to 17. w<x> would like to correspond with young people in her district.
