FIVE CHINESE FINED
Police Raid On Opium Den (N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, April 17. Five elderly Chinese were fined for opium offences at Auckland today by Mr A. A. Coates, S.M. The charges arose from a police raid on a house in Greys avenue. Jimmy Wong, charged with being the keeper of premises used for opium smoking and possessing prepared opium, was fined £35. Ah Chung, charged with being in possession of an opium utensil, was fined £lO. Low Yee Kwan and Wong Kong, each charged with being found on premises used for opium smoking, were fined £5. Gym Oh, charged with being in possession of prepared opium, was fined £lO.
