Grader Patrol At Kaikoura Twelve miles north of Kaikoura the heavy seas washed rocks, driftwood and seaweed over the highway at high tide yesterday afternoon. Traffic was not held up bu» Ministry of Works’ graders worked from 3 p.m. almost until dark to clear the road of debris This morning. graders would patrol the highway near Rakautara from 2 a.m to 4 a.m. during the peak of the next high tide, said the ministry’s engineer at Kai, koura (Mr W G. Neelevl.
