Hancock For I.T.V.
(N.Z.P.A. -Reuter—Copyright) LONDON, April 13. The BBC. television comedian, Tony Hancock, an. nounced last night he had switched to I.T.V. (commercial television*, the “Daily Mirror reported. He had signed the biggc't deal ever negotiated by a British television star at least £2OOO for each halfhour show. This would be double his 8.8. C fee. The shows would be given worldwide distribution and Hancock could het £5OOO a show.
Deductible Item.—The Associated Chambers of Commerce of New Zealand will urge the Government to allow subscriptions paid by commercial firms to public relations offices to be a deductible item for taxation purposes, it was agreed at the association’s annual conference in New Plymouth.— (P.A.)
