Bart. Timber Interim Down
(N.Z. Press A ssoci at ion) WELLINGTON. April 16. ; Directors of Bartholomew! Timbers. Ltd., Hamilton, have ! reduced the interim dividend from 31 per cent, to 3 per cent. They say they are concerned at the general slackening of building activity throughout the Waikato dis-, trict. Profit has been held at approximately the same level as for the corresponding period last year, in spite of heavier charges for depreciation and! maintenance, the company says in its report for the half-year to January 31. As indicated in the last annual report, the modern-; isaticn programme carried out at the mill has resulted in a higher output of sawn timber on a more economical basis. The company started cutting its own radiata afforestation in February. 1962. and the timber is proving of firstclass quality. Peters Ice.—Peters Ice Cream (Vie.). Ltd., Melbourne, ice cream, frosen food and pie maker, achieved satisfactory increases in sales for the six months to December 31. compared with the same period of 1960. directors report Interim Jividend is steady at 6 per cent. Last year's final was 9 per cent. Williamson Jeffery.—lnterim dividends of 3J per cent, on ordinary shares and 2J per cent, preference (both unchanged) will be paid on April 30, ex dividend April 26. Total ordinary payment last year was 8 per cent. »
