Easter Trading Arrangements
The Easter break this year is complicated by Anzac Day falling on the Wednesday after Easter For some it will mean finishing work on Thursday (April 19) and resuming on the following Thursday morning (April 26) Others will return to work for a day on Tuesday. April 24, and then have another day off on Anzac Day Although banks usually close on the Tuesday after Easter they will be open that day this year The banks will be closed on Good Friday and April 21. 22, 23 and 25
Grocers, chemists and genera] retailers will close at 9 p m.. and butchers at 5 pm on Thursday, April 19. and remain closed until Tuesday morning, April 24. when most retail shops and all food shops will reopen All retail and food shops will be open again at 9 a m on April 26 At New Brighton, most of the retail shops will be open on Saturday, April 21. after closing tomorrow, as usual Easter deliveries of bread in Christchurch will be on Ttiursdav Saturday. Tuesday and Thursday, and thereafter as usual Country deliveries of bread will vary with different bakers About half the factories In Christchurch will remain closed on Tuesday. April 24. and the remainder will reopen for the day and elose the following day.
