Indoor Bowls L. MOODY’S FOUR WINS
Tournament At Cowles Stadium A four skipped by L. Moody (Linwood Avenue! won a Canterbury Indoor Bowls Association tournament at Cowles Stadium yesterday from a field of 75. R. Hogwood's Atlas four was the other finalist. Twenty-nine fours qualified for post section play and the semi-finalists were Moody. Hogwood. G. Lancaster (Sprtngston South) and Mrs N. Buckley (Riccarton RS.A.). Mrs Buckley played Moody in a very even game. On the last end Moody's team was 1 up and holding two shots, but the second player tn Mrs Buckley's team Killed it and Moody went on to win. 6-3. In the other semi-final Hogwood rad an easv win over Lancaster, 16-4. The scoring was very even for the first six ends In the final, but Moody's team played the better bowls and won 19-7. The teams were Linwood Avenue: L. Moody (skip), A. Kissel (third). Mrs E. Moody (second), Mrs J. Malllnson (lead). Atlas: R. Hogwood (skip.), Mrs R. Kerr (third). J. Hayes (second). Mrs S. Hogwood (lead).
