Boy Scalded In Bath

IN.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON. April 13. A badly scalded boy was rushed to Wellington Hospital from Paremata about 4.15 p.m. today after he had fallen into a bath of hot water at his home. He is Duncan Sinclair, aged four He has scalds to the left side of his body and severe shock. His condition was reported as fair. Staphylococci A survey of the types of staphylococci prevalent among the population of Christchurch is being carried out by members of the Canterbury faculty of the College of General Practitioners. The survey, will cover ground similar to that of a study made three years ago. the intention being to reveal any differences in the meantime. A particular aim is to note any spread of strains of staphylococci resistant to the new antibiotics. The doctors will take swabs of boils and similar infected areas and the swabs will be examined in a Christchurch pathological laboratory.
