HAREWOOD TERMINAL
Final Payment By Govt. (From Our Own Reporter) WELLINGTON. April 13. Approval for the payment of the Government’s final contribution to the cost of the terminal building at Christchurch airport has been given by the Cabinet. The Minister of Civil Aviation (Mr McAlpine' said today that a cheque for £14,400 15s 7d had been cleared by the Treasury and forwarded to the Christchurch City Council.
Mr McAlpine had been asked whether there was any doubt about this payment being made. There had been suggestions that the whole matter of the cost of the building had been investigated, and that concern had been expressed about the cost exceeding the estimate.
