I 2V.Z. Lamb Again Steady (N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, April 11. Prices for New Zealand lamb were steady on London’s Smithfield market this week, according to the New Zealand Meat Producers’ Board market information service. There were increasing supplies of New Zealand mutton. Hoggets fetched 14d to 161 d per lb, wethers 10d to 14J3. and ewes lOd to 12Ad. New Zealand beef was not quoted. Prices for Nev. Zealand meat, ex hooks. Smithfield, in the week ended April 13. with the variation since the previous week, are quoted as follows: Canterbury Lamb d Var'n per lb d per lb Firs, Quality— Under 281 b .. 21 -21 J n.c. 29-36'b .. 21 n.c. 37-421 b .. 20J-21 n.c 43-5016 ..19 +J Seconds— Under 28!b .. 194-20 n.c. 29-3 SIP .. 20J-21 n.c.
Export Beef Schedule Export schedules for fat cow and boner beef have been reduced 5s per 100 lb as from Monday. Prices for other grades of frozen beef are unchanged. Fat cows are now 70s per 100 lb. Boner beef ranges from 47s 6d for over-fat cow. ox and heifer to 97s 6d for boner bull.
