£2610 Compensation

Compensation of £2610 7s 5d was awarded to Hutchinson Motors. Ltd., in a reserved judgment of the Land Valuation Committee yesterday for land taken by the Ministry of Works for the Sockburn roundabout. It awarded the firm £B9 5s as the value of an area of 4.6 perches and £2145 as the value of an area of 2 roods 2 perches. The amount of £l9 16s lid was awarded for land tax and £6 5s 6d for rates and sanitation fee. The firm's claim of £5OO for general disturbance was reduced to £350. The committee found that the claimant had lost nothing through severance—for which it had claimed £lO0 k The commit’ee comprised Messrs A. P. Blair. S.M.. B H. Toswill and T. S. Maskew Mr A. C Perrv appeared for Hutchinson Motors at the hearing and Mr P. T. Mahon for the Ministry of Works.
