DRAINAGE BOARD BUILDING
Full Statement On
Tuesday
A full statement on the Christchurch Drainage Board’s needs for new office accommodation and its proposal to raise a loan of £150.005 for a new building in Oxford terrace would be made at the board meeting next week, the chairman (Mr F. R. Price) said yesterday
Mr Price said that in accordance with usual policy, the objection by Northcote residents to the board's loan would be passed on to the Local Authorities Loans Board. The board wanted the public to realise the true position on accommodation and would like to feel that it had the support of t>he people rather than proceed in opposition. Mr Price said, when commenting on the decision of the Northcote residents' meeting to protest against the raising of loan money for new buildings until all urgent sewer commitments were met. i
