Rothschild's Merger

The Paris and London Houses of Rothschild have forged a new link in world banking, the first joining of the two houses since 1900. it was announced today. The London merchant bank, N. M. Rothschild and Sons, announced it had admitted as a partner a newlyformer £lm company in which the French Rothschfild interests have a £600,000 stake. A London spokesman sai dthe move was taken in view of Britain's proposed entry into the European Common Market.
S.A. Speaker.—The South Australian State Parliament had its liveliest opening in years yesterday when Mr Stott (Independent) was elected as Speaker of the Assembly on Liberal-Coun-try Party nomination. —Adelaide. April 13.
