1962 Chamber Scholar
.<s a result of the 1961 end-of-year examinations a young shorthand-typist. Miss Ellison Sinclair, of Cashmere, has become the Christchurch Chamber of Commerce Scholar for 1962. After attending the senior school of commerce a: the Christchurch Technical College throughout last year. Mias Sinclair was able to’pass with high grades in the four sections of the examination— English, commercial practice, shorthand (at which she reached 80 words a minute) and junior and intermediate typing (art a speed of 30 words a minute).
This year, in' addition to her daily work as a shorthandtypist and receptionist with a «nty electrical firm, Vis, Sinclair is attending night classes with the object of sitsenior Government shorthand typists’ examination m June.
Before taking up her commercial studies last rear she Of High School where she took a professional course.
