Tahuna Beach Erosion
(From Our Own Reporter) NELSON, March 12.
Heavy seas and high tides caused further serious erosion at Tahuna beach at the week-end. An Bft bank in front of the Tahunanui Surf Club’s pavilion was washed away from within a few feet of the building itself, undermining a recently-replaced access ramp. Erosion is also evident behind the building Other damage includes the erosion at both ends of a protective manuka bush fence, and the exposure of a protective clay bank surrounding the canteen and dressing sheds.
